By suggesting to the Indian and Pakistani leaders to use peaceful means in solving Kashmir issue, China is playing a big brother's role to  mitigate the situation on the J & K border.  Needless to say, this statement emanating from the Chinese Foreign Ministry is directed more towards the Indian leaders than towards the Pakistani leaders because of China's known pro-Pakistani tilt.  China has its military, economic and religious interests embedded in Pakistan.  China needs Pakistan's military help to stop the influx of trained militants to its XiJiang Province from Pakistan to avoid the spread of Jihad ideology, China has been pouring millions of dollars to improve and build Gawadar harbor to bring Middle Eastern oil to China as well as an investment to build a 'Silk Road' highway which it can use in the event of a war with India.  In view of all this, India needs to be very careful in watching and probing Chinese chess-like moves.  If war of 1962 provides any lesson, the Indian leaders should not go off the treadmill in dealing with China.
