It is interesting to note what changes democracy has brought to the people of
Afghanistan. The impending election is another opportunity for the people of
Afghanistan to firm up their resolve and stick to the democratic principles,
because this is only type of governance under which people will have the liberty
to express their opinion, to exercise their basic rights for both male and
female community and to properly educate the females. Of course, to enjoy all
these fundamental rights, there is a great need to maintain peace and security
in the country. Speaking of security, it is essential for the next government
to have proper arrangements with the USA to train its security forces to
safeguard country's infrastructure as well as the welfare of its citizens. One
ought not to underestimate the presence and strength of Talibans in Afghanistan,
and after the US forces depart, it will be an insurmountable battle for the
Afghani forces to control the attacks from the militants. Therefore, the
training of the Afghani forces and the presence of US forces in Afghanistan is
not only essential but is a matter of survival for the Afghanis. One also
should not ignore the lurking threat from Pakistan which is waiting for the US
forces to leave at the end of this year, so that they can activate its proxy
forces against Afghanistan. AFGHANISTAN SHOULD ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND THE PRESENCE
OF MILITANCY ACROSS ITS BORDERS AND ACCORDINGLY STRENGHTEN ITS OWN FORCES TO
MAINTAIN PEACE AND SECURITY IN THE COUNTRY
