Prime Minister Imran Khan's gesture and offer to open Hindu temples for Hindus interested in travelling to Pakistan to visit these religious places is a nice and well received gesture. So was the latest opening a Kartarpur corridor to improve relations between the two countries. However, Ms. Mehbooba who sounded like a mouthpiece and spokesperson of Imran Khan should realized that the relations cann't improve unless the civilian government in Islamabad has a final decision making authority in this matter. She is in politics, especially in local politics, for a long time, and one wonders what is it so hard to understand the main stumbling block of deteriorating relations between India and Pakistan. It is not the access to Kartarpur corridor or lack of approval for the Hindus in India to their religious places in Pakistan, it is the hell-bent anti-India mandate and attitude on the part of the Pakistani military establishment. Unless this anti-India attitude is altered, this writer has his apprehension about seeing any improvement in this situation. So, may be Ms. Mehbooba ought to talk to Mr. Imran Khan to look into this bone of contention - altering military's set mind predicated on anti-India ideology- instead of supporting Mr. Khan's toothless and baseless proposals.
