Finally, Ms. Nirbhaya got the justice even though it took 5 years for the judiciary to come out with the final verdict.  It is sad that this type of heinous act is not given any priority to settle to mitigate the sufferings of a victim family.  It is astonishing to note that there are similar cases pending in the Indian courts for the last 10 years.  Also, it is sad that the Indian Constitution treats juvenile differently than the adult perpetrators.  I wonder what is the difference in the act.  Once the act is committed irrespective of the age group, the life of a female is destroyed.  The suffering of the victim family is the same.  There is a need to amend the Constitution and all perpetrators of rape crime ought to be treated equally and swiftly.  Governmental authorities should keep in mind that if the society is not safe, especially the female community, it breeds chaotic situation in the country which in turn can turn into civil disobedience.  Also, the politicians should not ignore what then can happen at the ballot boxes.  For the good of the country, it is advisable for the authorities to be proactive and do everything possible in their capacity to eradicate the menace of rape crime.
