It is a very positive signal coming from the Chinese Ambassador regarding the expansion of a bilateral trade between India and China.  Also, it is very enlightening to note that the Chinese government is willing to address all the outstanding legitimate issues between these two countries whether they are in the arena of common borders, Tibet or flow of water.  Open and positive line of communication is essential to solve all mutual problems, but the only main ingredient of these dialogues ought to be that the end result should be fraught with 'win-win' situation.  Knowing what I know of the Chinese dealings with other nations, their main motive is "China first" which means it is good if it is good for China without any consideration to the other party's interest.  Hence, it is very crucial for the Indian government not to agree to any Chinese suggestions about the bilateral trade unless it is mutually beneficial.

While it is true that India should make use of all the flexibilities and positive attitude the Sharif government may show to ameliorate relationships between India and Pakistan, but one has to wonder as to how much power and final authority Mr. Sharif will have to accomplish this objective.  For a very simple reason that the military in Pakistan is not always in sync with the polity in Pakistan and also the influence of the rugged militant groups does not seem to be waning at all.  Hence, it is a very crucial enigma for Mr. Sharif to solve.  This writer is not suggesting at all not to pursue the path of peace and dialogues with the Sharif government, rather I am insinuating to be more careful before showing all your cards to the Pakistani leaders.  Knowing the history of summit meetings between India and Pakistan since 1947, one can easily conclude that peace can prevail in the region only if both parties are serious about it.  Unfortunately, what has been happening is that these meetings have not been able to produce any tangible results because it seemed to be a one-sided attempt.  The illegal border encroachment, the suicidal attacks in India perpetrated with the assistance of Pakistani leadership etc. are some of the very grave instances which are the stumbling blocks in the way of establishing peace in the region.  Can Mr. Sharif overcome this?  Can he control his military along with the elimination of activities of the militants in Pakistan?  This writer is very pessimistic about it.  Hence, my suggestion that India ought to walk very carefully on the path of peace with Pakistan.  Listen to them first and see what they can concretely deliver and then only proceed with a final decision.  EVERYBODY WANTS AND DESIRES PEACE IN THE REGION, BUT AT WHAT COST.

Mr. Saeed's outfit called JuD has a special budget allocation of millions of rupees in the Pakistani budget.  This very organization has been declared as a terrorist organization by the United States and in fact there is a bounty offer of $10 Million on Mr. Saeed.  On one hand, the Pakistani leaders are in favor of eliminating the terrorist activities in Pakistan and on the other hand, they are providing subsidies to the known terrorist.  How ironical?  Under the circumstances, one wonders if it really makes sense to carry on dialogues with the Pakistani leaders about improving relationship and expecting any cooperation which will bring peace to the region.  This writer has a very dismal hope towards achieving this goal.  If Pakistan is really serious about the eradication of terrorist activities, they should hand over Mr. Saeed to the Indian Government so that he can be brought to justice for what he has done in the Mumbai attack.  This writer fully understands an intricate situation the USA is caught in.  However, there has to be a limit of tolerance in every situation.  Most of the time, the world misinterprets a peaceful and lenient attitude of one party as a sign of weakness, and I think Pakistani leaders have been following this route as far as their relationship with the United States is concerned.  NOW IT IS UPTO THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT TO DETERMINE AS TO HOW MUCH LEASH HAS TO BE RELEASED AROUND THE NECT OF PAKISTANI LEADERS.

Knowing the historical experience with China in 1962, does any one really believe in what the Chinese leaders say?  The main motive of Chinese leaders is to serve its own cause first whether it is relating to military, economy and diplomacy.  The Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai slogan is still fresh in the mind of Indians and should remain fresh all the times because the hegemonic attitude of China cann't be ignored.  The sudden increase in the economic power has accelerated the ambition of Chinese leaders to flex its muscles to encircle India - whether it is in Tibet, Pakistan or Sri Lanka etc.  Chinese non-bending attitude in Arunachal Pradesh as well as in Ladakh are live examples also, even though one cann't over look the problem China is going to create for India by constructing dams on the Brahmaputra River.  Needless to say, the positive and effusive statement of Premier Li in Pakistan is another firm signal to India about the 'all weather friendly' Chinese-Pakistan relationships. What does it tell you?  In simple words, this relationship is going to stay there until China achieves its own mission which is to use Pakistan against India for all intent and purposes.  Unfortunately, Pakistan does not get it that China is exploiting a weak military and economic position of Pakistan to fulfill its own objective.  It is true that India cann't do much to stop the infiltration of Chinese in every sphere of Pakistan, other than to raise hue and cry on one to one basis as well as on the international platforms.  However, India can definitely do one thing which is not to let its guards down and believe in everything China says on these diplomatic missions.  INDIA OUGHT TO REALIZE THAT IF THERE IS A WAR NEXT TIME, INDIA HAS TO FACE A DUAL WAR BOTH WITH CHINA AND PAKISTAN SIMULTANEOUSLY.  HENCE, THERE IS A NEED TO EQUIP THE INDIAN DEFENSE FORCES WITH QUALITY ARSENALS SECOND TO NONE.

This is another heinous crime perpetrated by the Muslim fundamentalists in the UK.    However, as the world knows, this is not the first time these brainwashed Muslims have committed such a crime against the civilians.  This is one of the many such acts committed by them in the past.  But the sad part is that the UK government fails to understand the mentality of these misguided Muslims and to initiate any serious action to stop or at least minimize these barbaric acts.  One can understand the democratic way of running the government, but one has also to understand the mentality of the people living under that system.  What these fundamentalists are doing is exploiting the soft tenets of democracy to further their own selfish causes, and mind you, the day is not too far when the whites in the UK will become minority and will be ruled by these fundamentalists unless the UK government changes its way of governing the country.  One of the best ways to get rid of this nuisance is to revise the immigration laws in the UK which means, first, to flush out all illegal aliens and secondly, those who have any criminal history put them behind bar for a long term and force them towards hard labor in the jail.  Thirdly, make a Declaration in the Constitution to the effect that anybody uttering, exciting others and committing any anti-national act will be treated as a traitor.  The UK government has no choice but to be very strict towards Muslim fundamentalists if they want to save the country failing which it is a matter of time when  once the superpower will be reduced to be subservient.  IS THAT WHAT THE LEADERS IN THE UK WAITING FOR?

It is very interesting to hear the comments of Chinese newly elected Premier in front of the Indian youth delegation visiting China in which he emphasized the need to shake hands with India.  He said that his comments are based on the experience he gained when he visited India about 15 years ago.  The warmth and true hospitality he received while in India those days contributed a lot in expressing this opinion.  However, somehow this writer is not impressed by his gestures because of what happened in 1962 is still alive in the mind of this writer, and for that matter India should not forget that incident that easily too.  On the one hand, Mr. Li is proposing a friendly relationship with India while on the other hand, Chinese military outfit is exerting all efforts to encircle India from all sides.  The latest incident is deployment of Chinese forces in the Daulat Beg, Ladakh area.  Firstly, China denied existence of any of its forces in Daulat Beg area and then after a comprehensive and intensive dialogue between India and China, the Chinese agreed to withdraw its forces from that part of India.  It is, therefore, of utmost importance for India to be more watchful while making any agreement with China.  India needs to play a hardball with China and ought not to sign any agreement or come to any understanding unless China first shows a sincere effort towards establishing friendly relations and it can encompass vacating Indian occupied territory, eliminating its hegemonic attitude in the South and East China sea area etc.  INDIA IS NOT THE SAME INDIA AS IT WAS IN 1962, AND I AM SURE CHINA HAS REALIZED IT, SO INDIA OUGHT TO PLAY ITS CARDS RIGHT.

Needless to say that China has been flexing its muscles all around India whether it is in the shape of grabbing territories, expansion of its naval might around India or establishing economic deals with the neighboring countries.  This is a clear signal to the whole world especially to India that China will do anything to establish its hegemony in that part of the world.  Even though they would like to achieve this objective peacefully, but they are ready to take a fight with any neighboring country, if need be,  Hence, the on-going rift of China with the countries surrounding in South and East China sea, along with encircling India in the Indian Ocean Region.  It is true that China has the financial strength to expand its military might to achieve its long range objective, but it is very important for the USA and Russia to take note of this development.  This writer hold an opinion that China is not a friend of anybody.  Their main motive is to exploit the situation wherever it is available to fulfill its own objective.  This increasing military and economic might of China will prove to be instrumental in dethroning the USA from the super power throne.  As far as India is concerned, it is a very opportune time to discuss any Chinese involvement in Pakistan forcefully - whether it is controlling the Gawadar port or extension of nuclear technology - with a newly elected government.  Mr. Nawaj Sharif, as he stated, would like to improve economic ties with India which provides India a solid chance to judge the seriousness of Pakistan what Mr. Sharif is saying.  Russia has provided lot of military technology and armament to China, but Russia also needs to play its cards very carefully with China.  It is true that both nations follow the tenets of communism, but China's long range ideology rests with "CHINA FIRST".  TIMES AHEAD ARE ROUGH, HENCE THERE IS A NEED OF A GREAT DEAL OF CAUTION WHILE DEALING WITH CHINA.
